Hello! I'm Yena Kim.
Illustrator, Designer,
& a Photographer.
I think the beauty within design isn’t just in the final product, but the progress that designers go through to make the impossible into possible. As a Korean-American designer studying and practicing in Los Angeles, I like to use my multilingual background to it’s advantage. With strong focus on illustration, both analog and digital, I like to combine this with my graphic design skills to further polish my works.
My design philosophy is “design should be simple, clean, and direct”. We live in a fast advancing world where technology is growing at rapid speed. With the products we use in everyday lives becoming more complex, I think the design should be simple to allow anyone and everyone to be able to use it. My inspiration comes from the Mari Kondo method. Pursuit what speaks joy in the design while still keeping the minimalistic approach.
Currently studying graphic design and interactive design focusing on UI and UX at Santa Monica college.  While studying, I also freelancing projects include illustrations, posters, logos and branding.
